About The Position

Beloit Health System is looking to add an MRI Technologist to our Team! This position provides patient services using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician. The MRI Technologist performs radiographic and other related imaging procedures, producing images for interpretation by a physician. They operate imaging equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate, select and/or calculate technical factors, and apply principles of magnetic safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others. The role involves evaluating radiography for technical quality, assuming responsibility for the physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures, and administering or assisting with the administration of contrast media as required. Ensures proper documentation of exam, technical factors, film usage, quality improvement, etc. Performs quality control checks as required, maintains accurate patient records and files with confidentiality, and provides input for equipment and supply decisions. The technologist detects, reports to supervision, and contacts repair persons for equipment malfunctions, and assumes responsibility for portions of the department's quality assurance and improvement program. Performs clerical and scheduling functions and pursues continuing education. Assumes responsibility for inventory and stocking of supplies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT registration in Radiology
  • MRI certification within 18 months of hire or transfer
  • CPR certification within 90 days
  • Self-motivated and able to be flexible
  • Ability to function independently and to problem solve
  • Good written and oral communication skills and excellent patient interaction skills
  • Must adhere to established health system and Medical Imaging department policies, rules and regulations
  • Maintains ethical conduct and keeps confidential personal and medical information about patients
