About The Position

This PRN position involves performing MRI procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety, operating MRI scanners, and maintaining equipment. The role requires effective communication with patients and healthcare team members, adherence to safety and compliance guidelines, and accurate record-keeping.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
State licensure as required.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and MRI protocols.
Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and interpreting images.
Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Completion of accredited MRI program preferred.
ARRT certification in MRI or equivalent credential strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Explain MRI procedures and address patient questions.
Position patients according to established protocols and ensure comfort.
Administer contrast agents under supervision when required.
Operate MRI scanners and adjust settings to produce high-quality images.
Monitor patients during scans and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Inspect images for diagnostic quality and collaborate with radiologists for review.
Apply MRI safety practices, including magnetic field safety and infection control.
Follow all institutional and regulatory guidelines (e.g., ACR, HIPAA).
Record and update patient information in EMR.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient status and imaging results.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of MRI equipment.
Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure equipment calibration.
