Requirements

  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Renewal is required.
  • Active Certified BLS Provider (Basic Life Support) or must receive from an accredited institution within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One year of experience in Radiologic Imaging required.
  • Knowledge of Siemens and Phillips Equipment
  • Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Requires successful completion of an ARRT accredited program in Magnetic Resonance modality
  • Graduation from an advanced program of Magnetic Resonance can substitute for 1 year experience
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images based on patient needs.
  • Educates and explains procedures to patients to ensure safety and comfort during the examination.
  • Operates and oversees operative magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Records, processes and maintains patient data and treatment records, and prepares reports as needed.
  • Records thorough and accurate patient medical histories and notes as appropriate with policy and guidelines.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures, process and protection devices to comply with governmental regulations and to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Review and evaluate developed computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Follows directions and instructions of physician or provider as it relates to patient care management.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested including annual HIPAA and OSHA training. Maintains work area according to OSHA guidelines.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations/credentials to remain in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
