About The Position

Cameron Hospital is seeking a Full-Time MRI Technologist to join their Imaging Department. This role operates under the general supervision of the Lead – MRI Tech and the Imaging supervisor. The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality and accurate diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging in accordance with established protocols. They will interact with patients, clinicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner. This position also assists with radiologic technologist call rotations as needed and supports the team in various operational and technical functions.

Requirements

  • 12 months of scanning experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current ARRT, NMTCB, or RDMS certifications
  • BLS- Healthcare Provider Certification

Responsibilities

  • Operate under the general supervision of the Lead – MRI Tech and the Imaging supervisor.
  • Perform high quality and accurate diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging in accordance with established protocols.
  • Interact with patients, clinicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist in the daily scheduling, coordination, and resource allocation of technical staff to maintain optimal patient flow and departmental productivity across imaging modalities.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new technologists, ensuring new staff members are integrated smoothly and follow established technical protocols.
  • Assist the Manager in the development, revision, and enforcement of all technical protocols, departmental procedures, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) programs.
  • Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting imaging equipment across the department, coordinating service calls, and ensuring the continuous operational readiness of all systems.
  • Assist in inventory management, specifically tracking and ordering necessary medical supplies, contrast media, and accessories to prevent shortages.
  • Assist the clinical team with complex or non-routine imaging procedures, serving as a dedicated support resource during challenging exams or critical situations.
  • Assist in maintaining rigorous compliance documentation related to radiation safety standards (if applicable), state/federal regulations, and hospital accreditation requirements.
  • Assist in fostering a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment, helping to resolve minor day-to-day staff issues and communicating relevant operational information between management and staff.
  • Scan or radiograph patients by orders of a physician.
  • Process images and make sure they are of good quality before pushing images into the PACS for physician interpretation.
  • Perform quality review surveys when needed by the technical director.
  • Collaborate with scheduling team to schedule patient exams, as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of radiation protection, MRI safety, emergency protocols and procedures.
  • Have a working knowledge of the equipment in your assigned specialized area.
  • Obtain good clinical histories from patients.
