Capital Health is seeking an MRI Technologist to provide clinical services according to radiology practice standards. This role acts as a resource to radiography students and other technologists to ensure optimal patient care and efficient departmental operations. The technologist will be responsible for performing on-call, holiday, and weekend work when required, with a 60-minute response time. Key responsibilities include accurately sending images to PACS, understanding and abiding by the image QC process, correctly identifying patients and files, and preventing mislabeled images. The role requires accurate entry of written and electronic data to provide pertinent information to radiologists. The technologist must demonstrate a thorough understanding of venipuncture techniques for contrast media administration, Magnetic Resonance Imaging principles, anatomy, positioning, and technique. Safety is paramount, requiring demonstration of proper protection and safety processes for patients and staff in high strength magnetic fields, and patient safety through the use of guard rails, breaking mechanisms, shielding, and patient monitoring. Ancillary tasks to ensure efficient departmental operations are also expected. The technologist will assist physicians in performing various studies, adhering to standard department protocols, protective actions, and infection control procedures. Excellent patient care, recognition of clinical and emergent problems, and exceptional customer service are essential. Adherence to department policies and protocols is required to optimize studies for interpretation.
