About The Position

ChristianaCare is a nonprofit health system with a mission of service. This position is for an MRI Technologist at the Helen Graham Center, working full-time on a Monday-Wednesday schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week.

Requirements

  • MR Technologist—experience required.
  • ARRT Registered Technologist required.
  • ARRT Advanced MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire.
  • Cerner training required.
  • Excellent customer service/telephone skills required.
  • Flexibility in hours is required.
  • Flexibility to work at alternate locations as needed.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Completion of IV training course

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.
  • An Associate’s degree is required; candidates are required to attain an Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
  • Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.
  • Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and researches implanted devices prior to scanning.
  • Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
  • Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
  • Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
  • Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
  • Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
  • Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.
  • Maintains patient confidentially.
  • Uses 2 patient identifiers at all times.
  • Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
  • Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.
