About The Position

This position is for an MRI Technologist at the Helen Graham Center, working full-time on a Monday-Wednesday schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week.

Requirements

MR Technologist—experience required.
ARRT Registered Technologist required.
ARRT Advanced MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire.
Cerner training required.
Excellent customer service/telephone skills required.
Flexibility in hours is required.
Flexibility to work at alternate locations as needed.
Ability to work independently.
Completion of IV training course

Nice To Haves

Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.
An Associate’s degree is required; candidates are required to attain an Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.
Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and researches implanted devices prior to scanning.
Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.
Maintains patient confidentially.
Uses 2 patient identifiers at all times.
Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.
