Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited MRI certification program
  • ARRT/ARMRIT registered
  • Previous experience in diagnostic radiology/imaging setting
  • Proficiency running advanced MR studies independently
  • CPR- BLS Certification
  • Frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

Responsibilities

  • Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and assists in quality control of equipment
  • Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for implants and researching any necessary clearance
  • Sterilize and maintain equipment, maintains cleanliness or rooms and keeps adequate stock of supplies on hand
  • Administration of aseptic injection technique for contrast
  • Address patient concerns during procedure, and explain MRI procedure using tact, courtesy and poise to reduce anxiety to obtain patient cooperation
  • Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
  • Document radiological services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
  • Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement
  • Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
  • According to department standards and protocols set by radiologist, perform all job related functions as a MRI Technologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner, and communicate related information to appropriate physician
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
