Per Diems shall be required to work 1 major and 2 minor holidays per year & 4 weekend days (Saturday or Sunday) per 3 month period of time. A weekend is defined as a Saturday or Sunday. Major and Minor Holidays are defined as: major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day) and two (2) other holidays throughout the year if and as needed by the Medial Center.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • Required Licensed in Radiologic Technology by New York State.
  • ARRT, RT (R)(MR) or Required ARRT-RT and completion of ARRT verified MRI training program with documented completion of didactic and clinical competency.
  • Must obtain MRI Registry (ARRT-MR) within 18 months of hire
  • NYS DOH Injection license preferred, required within 90 days from date of hire.
  • Must have active and ongoing BLS.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee is also frequently required to talk and/or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Works inside.
  • Can be exposed to disagreeable odors, and infection.
  • Contact with patients, physicians, department employees, and hospital departments, such as nursing.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
  • Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
  • Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.
  • Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.
  • May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performance of all patient MRI imaging procedures and all patient safety protocols.
  • Functions as the first line interface with customer accounts in the successful accomplishments of their imaging needs.
