About The Position
The MRI Technologist maintains MRI protocols as directed by the MRI Coordinator or Lead(s), performs daily scanner check-ups and quality control required by the American College of Radiology, the state Department of State Health Services, and other credentialing organizations as required by law, and performs IV insertion when contrast is needed according to OSHA guidelines. The technologist identifies each patient, reviews exam paperwork, obtains appropriate medical history, and confirms that images, technologist notes, and required documents have been successfully transmitted to PACS. This is a full-time, on-site position in Kyle, Texas, with a $13,000 sign-on bonus available to new hires only.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized, approved AMA Council of Education program in radiological technology.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
- Current BLS certification.
- Demonstrated proficiency in performing intravenous injections.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain MRI protocols as directed by the MRI Coordinator or Lead(s).
- Perform daily check-ups and quality control on MRI scanners as required by the ACR, state Department of State Health Services, and other credentialing organizations.
- Perform IV insertion when contrast is needed, following OSHA guidelines.
- Identify each patient and review exam paperwork with the patient.
- Obtain appropriate medical history from the patient.
- Confirm images are sent to PACS according to policy and procedures.
- Verify technologist notes and required documents have successfully transmitted to PACS.
