About The Position

Akumin is hiring a part-time MRI Technologist for its Trinity facility. The technologist is responsible for patient safety and performing high-quality MR studies, on site and/or remotely. The role requires effective communication with radiologists, team members, patients, and customers, including in mobile environments. When needed, the technologist trains and orients new technologists, Patient Coordinators, and/or MR Technologist Assistants. Ability to work at several locations and local travel may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• ARRT (R), ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT, where permitted by contract in lieu of ARRT.
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR certification.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
• For technologists registered in other modalities: three months of supervised MRI clinical scanning experience, or current enrollment for more than six months in an accredited MRI training program.
• For MR-registered technologists (RT(MR) or ARMRIT): no experience required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multitasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Local travel may be required.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
• One year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety, including screening for contraindications and using aseptic injection technique; may oversee a remote MR Technologist Assistant.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images; operation of multiple MR systems may be required.
• Use available communication channels to address concerns, solve problems, and resolve conflict.
• Communicate effectively with customers and/or radiologists.
• Train and orient new technologists, Patient Coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants, on site and/or remotely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
