About The Position

The MRI Technician coordinates and/or performs MRI exams. The role performs procedures using MRI equipment and coordinates patient care for MRI services under physician supervision. The technician completes exams according to prescribed protocols and durations, reviews patient histories and clinical indications, and consults with the Radiologist when necessary. The position also supports patient comfort and safety and communicates with providers and support staff to facilitate departmental operations.

Requirements

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and OSHA regulations.
• Arrive at work on time in professional attire and complete tasks within established time frames.
• Seek appropriate tasks after primary tasks are completed and assist co-workers as needed.
• Demonstrate adaptability to expanded roles.
• BLS/CPR certification; Basic Cardiac Life Support is listed under education and certification.
• Must be a registered MRI technologist or registry eligible.
• Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Explain the MRI process and help patients relax.
• Use appropriate safety procedures and maintain, observe, and enforce safety measures.
• Communicate with providers and support staff to facilitate and promote departmental operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
