About The Position

The MRI Technologist works under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Manager, or Radiologist and follows established procedures and guidelines for safe MRI scanner operation and quality image acquisition. The role manages room workflow and facilitates patient care in conjunction with the Magnetic Resonance Supervisor. This is a per diem, onsite position at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, with a day shift. The scheduled weekly hours are 0. The listed pay range is $48.00–$65.78 per hour.

Requirements

Graduate from an approved Magnetic Resonance Imaging program.
Possess an Associate’s Degree.
Maintain a current ARRT registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging; new graduates must obtain ARRT registration within one year of hire.
Maintain current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

Review MRI orders and indications, and confirm the scan protocol.
Perform venipuncture and administer IV contrast agents.
Screen patients for MRI safety.
Position patients, place coils, and select imaging protocols.
Control access to MRI zones.
Prepare and clean equipment and the scanner for each patient.
Perform daily quality assurance on the MRI scanner.
Enter charges accurately into the EMAR for all exams.
Ensure exams are available on PACS for timely interpretation.
Manage room workflow and facilitate patient care with the Magnetic Resonance Supervisor.
Operate the MRI scanner safely and obtain quality images in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
