About The Position

The MRI Technical Assistant supports radiology technologists and radiologists by helping prepare patients and equipment for imaging procedures, assisting with image processing and patient transport, tracking supplies, and maintaining accurate procedure records. The role helps ensure equipment functions properly and that patients have a safe and comfortable experience during imaging. Patient care is required. The position is onsite at 102 Endicott Street and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and the radiology team.
Attention to detail to accurately record information and support patient safety.
Ability to lift and move patients and stand for extended periods during procedures.

Nice To Haves

0–1 year of experience in a hospital or managed care setting.
0–1 year of radiology experience.
Familiarity with medical terminology and basic knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities

Greet and prepare patients for radiology procedures, explain the imaging process, and answer questions.
Prepare and arrange radiology equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI machines, and ultrasound devices.
Help position patients on imaging tables or in standing or sitting positions to obtain clear and accurate images.
Assist radiology technologists with processing images, including labeling and organizing digital images and transferring them to PACS.
Transport patients to and from the radiology department while supporting their safety and comfort.
Track supplies, including contrast agents, gowns, and other necessary radiology department items.
Maintain accurate records of patient procedures for medical records and billing purposes.
