About The Position

The MRI Technical Assistant supports radiology technologists and radiologists by helping prepare patients and equipment, assisting with imaging procedures and image handling, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for patients. The role includes patient care and is based onsite. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Hospital or managed-care setting experience of 0–1 year preferred, or radiology experience of 0–1 year preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology and basic knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures is beneficial.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and the radiology team.
Attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping and patient safety.
Ability to lift and move patients and stand for extended periods during procedures.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with medical terminology and basic knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures.
0–1 year of hospital or managed-care setting experience, or 0–1 year of radiology experience.

Responsibilities

Greet and prepare patients for radiology procedures, explain the imaging process, and answer questions.
Prepare and arrange radiology equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI machines, and ultrasound devices.
Help position patients on the imaging table or in an appropriate standing or sitting position to obtain clear, accurate images.
Assist technologists with image processing, including labeling and organizing digital images and transferring them to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
Transport patients to and from the radiology department while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Track department supplies, including contrast agents, gowns, and other necessary items.
Maintain accurate records of patient procedures for medical records and billing purposes.
