About The Position

Provides direct patient care, leveraging extensive experience to perform patient procedures, post processing techniques, and produce quality images for physician interpretation. Possess an advanced knowledge of MRI applications and shares this knowledge with other technical staff. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all sites have updates guidelines and processes.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
Must maintain a valid Florida State license as a Certified Radiologic Technologist.
Must maintain a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
Must maintain a valid ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
Three (3) years of experience in MRI with specialized training in applications required.
Must be proficient in using a variety of imaging hospital-based computer systems and software applications.

Bachelor’s degree
Associate’s degree and two (2) years of experience (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section) may substitute for Bachelor’s degree.
A mixture of MRI and CT experience preferred

Responsibilities

Ensures the high quality and consistency of MRI guidelines throughout Orlando Health.
Serves as the primary liaison between Radiologists/Cardiologists and the MRI technologists on all issues related to MRI guidelines and regulatory/accreditation.
Takes responsibility for the implementation of new MRI software and technology.
Actively participates in marketing initiatives.
Monitors and reports potential maintenance concerns to Imaging Services Director.
Standardizes quality assurance and control processes.
Participates in the decision-making process for acquiring new equipment, ensuring compliance with Orlando Health, Joint Commission, ACR, and Florida State requirements for all MRI equipment.
Coordinates the submission of appropriate paperwork and clinical images necessary for ACR (American College of Radiology) accreditation.
Rotates regularly throughout all Orlando Health facilities to provide MRI services.
Assesses and addresses site- specific quality and performance issues to ensure organizational compliance and quality standards.
Communicates with the Imaging Services Director or Manager to maximize the utilization of MRI services through safe, quality-minded, cost-effective measures.
Ensures the safety of patients.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other Federal, state, and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, department guidelines, and education requirements.
Performs of basic MRI equipment use and image processor maintenance as it relates to QA/QC issues.
Assists in researching MRI quality control issues for corporate facilities.
Reviews QC logs at each site weekly to ensure compliance.
Participates in Orlando Health Corporate MRI Workgroup meetings with the Imaging Services Director.
Participates in staff meetings as needed to review equipment and/or QA/QC issues.
Communicates with various vendors involved in the day-to-day operations of MRI departments as related to applications.
Utilizes corporate imaging computer systems accurately.
Participates in additional training as necessary to enhance personal skills and those of all MRI technologists.
