The Bruce Company is a local, family-run landscaping company with 70 years of experience, seeking a Mow Crew Leader to join their Landscape Maintenance department. Requirements

  • Previous experience with or ability to learn effective landscaping skills and techniques.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English

Nice To Haves

  • Previous equipment operating experience (Mowers, Trimmers, Edger’s or other used in basic landscape equipment ) is helpful but not required
  • Knowledge of trees, shrubs and other landscape products is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Performing landscape maintenance tasks and overseeing a crew of employees who complete mowing and edging of lawns, string trimming, dispersal of lawn clippings, raking and disposing of leaves and other yard waste, assisting with spring and fall cleanups, and overall maintenance of landscape at customer sites.
  • Directing, organizing, and overseeing Landscape Maintenance tasks to assure quality and timely completion of work on customer sites.
  • Driving company vehicle to transport crew from The Bruce Company to assigned job sites.
  • Training Crew Members on an ongoing basis.
  • Identifying problems at the work site and following through appropriately.
  • Mowing lawns either by hand or using a riding lawnmower.
  • Trimming and edging around driveways, sidewalks, trees, mulch beds, and walls.
  • Eliminating accumulated clippings via blowing or raking.
  • Blowing hard surfaces clean.
  • Participating in spring and fall cleanups as needed.
  • Loading and securing all tools and other necessary equipment and materials.
  • Communicating effectively with other coworkers to function as a team.
  • Leading by example, and providing guidance for Crew Members, in regards to company policies and procedures such as attendance, conduct and dress code.
  • Assisting with snow removal during the winter months as business needs dictate.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by crew leader, supervisor, and/or manager.
