About The Position

Dragonfly Pond Works is a fast-growing company in the environmental industry, offering year-round work and long-term career opportunities. We are seeking a Mowing Crew Lead who thrives in an outdoor work environment to join our team. This role involves managing the maintenance of lakes, ponds, and other Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs), including mowing, weed-eating, and string trimming. The position requires safe operation and maintenance of various equipment, loading/unloading materials, and maintaining on-site relations with clients and contractors. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, detail-oriented, and a team player aligned with Dragonfly's values.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in lake/pond maintenance, landscaping, commercial mowing, turf management, or erosion control.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds on a routine basis.
  • Ability to walk on steep slopes for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis.
  • Ability to work on slopes, near water, and in various weather conditions.
  • Results-driven with strong attention to detail.
  • Must comply with Dragonfly's policies and procedures.
  • Great communication skills and ability to interact with multiple audiences, including but not limited to the Operations Team, subcontractors, vendors, and others.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Operations Manager
  • Manage the maintenance of lakes and ponds, & other Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs).
  • Mowing, weed-eating, and string trimming slopes and basins of ponds
  • Load and unload heavy equipment and planting materials from trucks.
  • Schedule and monitor daily workloads
  • Plan, coordinate, and collect equipment and materials each day.
  • Attend and participate in crew and department general and safety meetings.
  • Prepare timesheets and other daily paperwork as required by the company.
  • Safe driving of company owned vehicles trucks (with or without trailers) and transporting crew members.
  • Maintain on-site relations and communications with clients, contractors and/or subcontractors.
  • Safe operation and maintenance of the following equipment: Mowers - Stand on, walk behind, Ventrac. Edgers, string trimmers and chain saws. Backpack blowers and sprayers. Hand tools such as shovels, picks, rakes and pruning tools.
