About The Position

This role supports the launch of a new business unit focused on accessorizing and customizing new motorcycles. The technician independently maintains motorcycles in excellent mechanical condition for display or riding, removes OEM parts and accessories, and installs custom parts with careful attention to workmanship and detail. Internal engine work is not required.

The position also involves sourcing parts and accessories, maintaining vendor relationships, and scheduling work for motorcycles and other vehicles. The successful candidate may manage a small, growing collection of exotic and show cars and contribute to distinctive, often one-off builds. The workspace near NuLu in downtown Louisville is undergoing renovations. The posting notes that additional future compensation may be tied to units sold as the project progresses; the hourly rate is commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• Motorcycle license or endorsement required.
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a motorcycle mechanic or technician.
• Strong understanding of motorcycle systems and components.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, remain on your feet for extended periods, and climb ladders.
• Experience using power tools and ability to complete basic fabrication.

Nice To Haves

• Technical training or certification preferred.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Computer skills.
• Ability to conduct basic online research and purchase items.
• Basic construction skills, including plumbing, drywall, and painting.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Remove and replace motorcycle parts and accessories.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, chain maintenance, and inspections.
• Source parts and accessories and maintain relationships with vendors.
• Schedule work to be performed on various vehicles.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs and services.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
• Manage a small, growing collection of exotic and show cars.
• Perform other work as directed.
