About The Position

This is a 1099 contractor role for a Motorcycle and Vehicle Quality Inspector. The primary responsibilities include documenting the cosmetic condition, damage, completeness, and wear indicators of vehicles, and capturing photographs. No mechanical testing or vehicle operation is required. Inspectors will use a standardized process for vehicle condition reporting and damage documentation, and will submit reports and photos through Yamaha's web portal within 48 hours of inspection completion. The role requires travel to Boilingbrook, IL, and nearby areas. Project duration and specific client addresses will be provided upon confirmation. The current project shift hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but schedules may vary based on site availability.

Requirements

  • Experience inspecting motorcycles, ATVs, and/or UTVs
  • NAAA certification or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years' experience as a Quality Inspector preferably in the Motorcycle & Vehicle field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in vehicle quality inspection, automotive/motorcycle manufacturing, repair, maintenance, or quality control.
  • Strong knowledge of motorcycle and vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, electrical systems, body structures, and safety features.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, inspection criteria, repair records, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes, inspection checklists, and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety requirements, and quality assurance practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify minor defects and potential reliability concerns.
  • Proficient with digital reporting systems, spreadsheets, and inspection documentation tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Warehouse/distribution center inspection experience preferred
  • Experience with OEM, dealership, manufacturing, or third-party inspection environments is preferred.
