About The Position

The Marine Corps' Prepositioning (MCPP) Program is based on Blount Island in Jacksonville, Florida, with duty assignment aboard a ship in Guam, Saipan, or Diego Garcia. KBR provides maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy. This role is for a Shipboard Mechanic (Motor Transport). The mechanic will maintain, service, inspect, and repair combustion-powered automotive vehicles, over-the-road trucks, comparable vehicles such as light combat vehicles and trucks, and other motor transport equipment. Other tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Five years directly related work experience.
Completion of the basic automotive mechanics course, or equivalent.
Completion of the automotive organizational maintenance course, or equivalent.
Completion of the automotive intermediate maintenance course, or equivalent.
Completion of the advanced motor transport maintenance courses.
Must maintain a valid passport.
Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License.
Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
Must be deployable within 72 hours.
U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.

Nice To Haves

Certificate from a vocational school or other recognized source with a major study in electrical or automotive repair is preferred.
In lieu of formal course work, a combination of college credits, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered.

Responsibilities
