About The Position

The Motor Power Service Manager is responsible for supervising all service department personnel, monitoring their performance, and assessing the present and future needs of the Service Department. This role involves establishing short and long-term operating and financial objectives, encouraging technician training, and ensuring company policies are applied effectively. The manager will formulate profit/expense goals, review departmental activities, and promote positive employee and customer relations. Some overnight travel may be required for training and customer visits. Collaboration with the Parts Manager and sales force is key to improving labor sales. The position also involves maintaining interdepartmental communication, promoting safe work habits, and coordinating warranty claims. The manager has the authority to make decisions regarding hiring, firing, and employee status changes, and must exercise discretion and independent judgment. Adherence to work schedule, attendance, and company ethical standards are also required.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or minimum three to five year related work experience.
  • CDL preferred
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Strong work ethic
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Accounting background preferred
  • Supervisory responsibilities are required
  • Decision making aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Supervising all service department personnel and monitoring their performance.
  • Assessing present and future needs, trends, problems, and profit opportunities of the Service Department.
  • Establishing short and long-term operating and financial objectives for the Service Department.
  • Encouraging technicians to keep their skills up-to-date through periodic technical training.
  • Ensuring that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied within the department.
  • Formulating annual and monthly profit/expense goals in accordance with company objectives.
  • Reviewing and appraising the results of activities within the department and taking appropriate action.
  • Traveling to customer locations on a regular basis promoting the Service Department and overall dealership.
  • Collaborating with the Parts Manager and outside sales force to improve labor sales.
  • Maintaining appropriate communication within and between all departments.
  • Promoting safe work habits and ensuring that safety rules are followed.
  • Developing and maintaining policies and practices to ensure positive employee, customer, and interdepartmental relations.
  • Hiring and firing employees, or giving suggestions and recommendations for changes in employee status.
  • Exercising discretion and independent judgment to meet the needs of the company, employees, and/or customers.
  • Coordinating the processing of warranty claims and administering warranty and policy adjustments.
  • Adhering to work schedule and maintaining regular attendance.
  • Performing Wallwork Inc.-wide duties as requested by the designated supervisor.
  • Upholding Wallwork Inc. ethical standards and demonstrating behavioral and service expectations.
