About The Position

The MOT Foreman is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by planning, organizing, and executing the day-to-day Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) of the project. This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of relevant civil experience within concrete, structures, roads, and/or marine.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Foreman or other leadership role in field operations, responsible for leading and managing a multi-discipline work force on a large-scale project.
  • Possess a valid and current driver’s license.
  • Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.
  • Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.
  • Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team player and collaborator.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, overtime, additional and/or different hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed, to best serve the business operations.
  • Ability to be on-call during designated periods outside of regular working hours, meaning must be available to respond to work-related issues and potentially be at the Project Office and/or Project Job-Site on short notice (i.e. within one (1) hour).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for onsite Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) activities.
  • Support and aid with MOT subcontractors onsite.
  • Oversee daily MOT activities, ensuring they are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Maintain daily operational logs for MOT activities to ensure compliance with the contractual agreement.
  • Assist with the preparation of MOT reports for Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development (LADOTD) and the Developer.
  • Track and analyze equipment and facility performance data to identify issues, enhance efficiency, and improve reliability.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Quickly respond to breakdowns or emergencies, mobilize resources, and implement corrective measures to restore operations safely.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with the company quality plan and industry best practices.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance in terms of MOT works.
  • Participate in safety and environmental programs and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Lead a high-performing team through coaching and top-tier talent retention.
  • Hire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team through coaching, top-tier talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts.
  • Supervise the team, including training, providing work direction, problem-solving assistance, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and consumables, ensuring critical spares are available to avoid operational interruptions.
  • Prepare and submit a daily activity report.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
