About The Position

Bank of England Mortgage is looking for a detail-oriented Mortgage Servicing Cashiering Specialist to join our servicing team. If you enjoy working with numbers, researching discrepancies, solving problems, and making sure the details are right, this may be a great opportunity for you. You'll play an important role in the day-to-day servicing of our mortgage portfolio by processing borrower payments, balancing transactions, researching payment activity, and partnering with our servicing and accounting teams. We're looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, works well with others, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Comfort working with numbers and performing mathematical calculations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to research information, identify discrepancies, and independently work toward solutions.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn financial and mortgage servicing systems.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous mortgage servicing, banking, financial services, payment processing, reconciliation, or related experience.
  • Experience with Finastra or another mortgage loan servicing system.
  • Knowledge of mortgage payment processing, payoff transactions, or loan reconciliation.
  • Mortgage-related experience is preferred, but we encourage candidates with relevant transferable experience to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Process mortgage payments, payoffs, and other monetary and non-monetary transactions within the loan servicing system.
  • Review and process payments received through multiple channels, including lockbox activity, customer requests, mail, internal bank requests, and external partners.
  • Assist with payoff quotes and the posting of payoff funds.
  • Complete daily cash balancing and manual reconciliations to ensure transactions are accurate and accounts are balanced.
  • Research borrower payment histories and resolve payment discrepancies or account questions.
  • Process applicable liquidation transactions, including charge-offs, write-offs, and proceeds.
  • Work closely with Mortgage Servicing and Accounting to research transactions, reconcile accounts, and ensure funds are applied correctly.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow applicable regulatory requirements, bank policies, and servicing procedures.
