About The Position

The Mortgage Operations Specialist is responsible for all mortgage operations including quality, compliance, post-closing, servicing, shipping, and reporting. This role works with other mortgage staff and vendors to support the goals and objectives of the Mortgage Department. The position requires eligibility and the ability to obtain an NMLS#. The Mortgage Operations Specialist must demonstrate an understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for all lending operations and will be required to update that knowledge as necessary.

Requirements

  • Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
  • Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
  • Extensive knowledge of consumer and real estate lending practices and procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Must be eligible and obtain an NMLS#.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for all lending operations and shall be required to update that knowledge as necessary.
  • Regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Employee shall be trained annually in BSA/AML compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Closes, funds, scans/ships/electronic files Portfolio loans in a timely fashion.
  • Assists with completing the HMDA report correctly and timely at CRCU required intervals.
  • Interacts and solves member questions and requests with Mortgage Sub-Servicer and with posting errors in relation to mortgage payments.
  • Assists with preparing Mortgage month-end, quarter-end and annual reports.
  • Provides administrative support to the mortgage operations team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
