About The Position

A Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for completing and verifying financial information on loan applications by obtaining necessary information to process a complete mortgage loan file. This includes verifying credit, income, assets, and appraisals. The Loan Processor also ensures compliance with all Federal rules and regulations, including Respa, Tila, and HVCC, as well as internal policies and procedures such as fraud prevention. It is the policy of Flat Branch Mortgage quality control procedures to ensure that at a minimum, the borrower(s) are contacted by the Loan Processor at least once on every loan file. This is an in-office role, and candidates within driving distance of our Jefferson City, MO location will be considered.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience in Mortgage Loan Processing, required
  • Familiar with the mortgage loan process and required documentation
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient in basic computer technologies, appropriate for a paperless environment
  • Adaptable to change and shifts in priority
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, daily

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Encompass LOS recommended but not a requirement

Responsibilities

  • Review loan files submitted by loan officers, verifying accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established standards for documentation, mortgage type and amount, borrower assets, liabilities, and employment information.
  • Correct data errors and obtain missing information as necessary.
  • Contact specified companies to request necessary information such as title commitment, verification of employment, and hazard insurance.
  • Submit the loan file to underwriting for approval after all necessary information has been ordered.
  • Obtain proper information to satisfy conditions listed by the underwriter for the file to be clear to close.
  • Submit the file back to the underwriter to ensure all conditions have been met.
  • Submit the file to the Mortgage Loan Closer for settlement once all conditions are cleared and the file is clear to close.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the team leads and/or department managers.
