About The Position

First Bank and Trust is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor located in Forest, VA. The Mortgage Loan Processor will be responsible for providing mortgage support to Mortgage Bankers in the Forest area as well as the Mortgage Division. The individual will provide quality and superior customer service to customers of First Bank and Trust Company. The Mortgage Loan Processor composes correspondence, organizes and maintains files, and performs additional administrative support duties as requested. The individual will provide superior and quality customer service to customers of First Bank and Trust Company. The individual will greet and assist customers at the branch and process the applicable loan documents as instructed by the Loan Officer.

Requirements

• Associate Degree - Accounting, Business and/or Finance
• Work Experience may be considered in lieu of an Associate Degree
• Five or more years of related banking experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong financial/accounting background
• Math and analytical skills
• Self-Motivated

Responsibilities

• Assist Mortgage Loan Officers in preparing loan packages.
• Composes correspondence, organizes and maintains files, and performs additional administrative support duties as requested.
• Orders appraisals and title work.
• Provides ongoing communication to client to ensure the loan process runs smoothly.
• Log and review declined and withdrawn Mortgage Loan files.
• Send wire transfer requests to Wire Department
• Provides operational and administrative support to the designated officer.
• Complete applicable loan processing checklists.
• Interview customers to obtain credit and financial information.
• Receive loan applications.
• Process paid off loans.
• Prepare past due report on delinquent loans and follow-up with Mortgage Loan Officer
• Assist customer with loan and deposit questions.
• Responsible for loan exception tracking.
• Verify insurance policies for accuracy.
• Verification of loan payments
• File and/or scan applicable loan documents.
• Be knowledgeable about First Bank and Trust products.
• Answer the phone and greet customers.
• Cross sells the bank’s services and products.
• Other duties as assigned.
