About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Originator Team Lead originates residential mortgage loans and supports loan production within the branch. The role does not include direct supervisory responsibility, though the Team Lead may receive overrides on qualified loans originated by other Mortgage Loan Originators. The position must meet the Outside Sales Exemption criteria under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and applicable state regulations, requiring a significant portion of work time to be spent conducting sales activities away from the employer’s place of business.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid NMLS license as required by state and federal regulations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Nice To Haves

College coursework or degree preferred.
Previous experience in mortgage lending or financial services preferred.

Responsibilities

Originate mortgage loans in accordance with company guidelines and lending regulations.
Conduct borrower interviews to gather required financial information and assess eligibility.
Evaluate applicant financial documents to determine appropriate loan programs.
Educate clients on available loan products, terms, and procedures.
Submit complete loan applications to the processing team for approval and underwriting.
Maintain accurate records in the loan origination system.
Ensure timely follow-up with clients, processors, and underwriters.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth loan closings.
Meet established productivity and quality goals.
Maintain knowledge of current lending policies, compliance standards, and industry trends.
