About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Originator originates residential mortgage loans by developing client relationships, assessing borrower needs, and guiding applicants through the loan process. The role supports high customer satisfaction and ensures compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid NMLS license as required by state and federal regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Nice To Haves

• College coursework or degree preferred.
• Previous experience in mortgage lending or financial services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in accordance with company guidelines and lending regulations.
• Interview borrowers to gather required financial information and assess eligibility.
• Evaluate applicants’ financial documents to determine appropriate loan programs.
• Educate clients about available loan products, terms, and procedures.
• Submit complete loan applications to the processing team for approval and underwriting.
• Maintain accurate records in the loan origination system.
• Follow up with clients, processors, and underwriters in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support smooth loan closings.
• Meet established productivity and quality goals.
• Maintain knowledge of current lending policies, compliance standards, and industry trends.
