About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Officer - Retail position provides Simply the Best customer service to each customer at all times. The role develops mortgage loan business through internal and external referral sources and builds and maintains business relationships within the community. The Mortgage Loan Officer advises clients on mortgage loan options and other financial products, guides customers through loan applications, and provides customer service from approval through closing while coordinating with loan origination sources to secure and verify information required for underwriting. The role is office-based. Certain positions outside the branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement; specific arrangements are provided by the hiring team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of mortgage loan origination experience; preferably at a bank.
• NMLS license.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• PC and Internet skills.

• Bachelor's degree.
• Knowledge of mortgage loan products, including conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending, and portfolio programs.
• Knowledge of mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to cross-sell financial products and services.

Responsibilities

• Develop new and expand internal and external referral sources to grow mortgage business.
• Advise clients on mortgage loan options and other financial products using consultative selling techniques.
• Provide customer service from approval through closing, working with loan origination sources to secure and verify information required for underwriting.
• Maintain client relationships.
• Advise customers on completing loan applications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
