About The Position

This position is responsible for the closing duties associated with First United Bank mortgage loans according to all bank, investor, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years experience in a loan production environment
  • Minimum of two years experience closing FHA, VA, FNMA, non-conforming and conventional loans
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Teamwork and customer service skills a must
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with other departments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ENCOMPASS loan origination and fulfillment software a plus

Responsibilities

  • Audit the mortgage loan file for accuracy and review underwriting approvals for clear-to-close and specific closing/funding conditions.
  • Verify that the lock, loan approval, fees, and current loan entry program data all match completely.
  • Ensure the loan is correct within the loan entry program, complete all required closing fields, and log file progress in the conversation log or loan story during every interaction.
  • Prepare and send closing instructions, invoices, insurance, and relevant file items to the title company 24 hours prior to closing.
  • Review title company CDs, secure MLC approval on figures, issue initial CDs to borrowers, and handle Changes of Circumstance (COC) CDs when applicable.
  • Prepare, review, and send final closing documents to the title company while maintaining strict compliance and accuracy.
  • Verify wiring instructions, initiate wire transfers, send expedited funding authorizations to title, and successfully complete all funding checklist items.
  • Provide consistent file status updates to the MLC and Loan Assistant, and assist the post-closing and shipping departments with missing documents or file issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
  • Dresses professionally.
  • Recommends to supervisor possible methods to improve department.
