About The Position

This position is responsible for developing and growing residential loans and other bank products within Firstar Bank’s Hispanic Market and beyond, while building relationships with clients, prospects, and community members.

Requirements

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, including the ability to speak, read, write, and effectively conduct business communications in both languages, is required.
Candidates may be required to successfully complete the Bank's approved language assessment and meet established proficiency standards.
Comprehensive knowledge of banking products, with a thorough understanding of mortgage lending principles, practices, and applicable government and regulatory requirements.
Advanced financial analysis skills with strong sales, relationship-building, and negotiation abilities.
In-depth knowledge of credit analysis and underwriting fundamentals.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organization, professionalism, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach.
Ability to proactively build and maintain positive relationships with customers, referral partners, and community contacts.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also demonstrating the initiative and self-discipline necessary to work independently with minimal supervision.
High integrity and a strong work ethic; ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and mortgage origination systems.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in the Secondary Mortgage Market is preferred.
Applicants need to have an understanding of Agency guidelines, which includes Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and USDA loan products.
Proven sales experience, including outside sales, business development, or relationship management, preferred.
Demonstrated experience developing customer relationships and generating business through community involvement, referrals, and networking activities is preferred.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients and prospects regarding deposit products, residential loans, other financial services.
Represent Firstar Bank in the Hispanic community through various civic and community functions to further enhance its image and develop or promote additional business/consumer relationships.
Make outside sales calls to potential and existing customers to develop new business and retain current business.
Develop and maintain relationships with local realtors, developers, and builders to encourage use of Firstar Bank services for residential mortgages.
Generate residential loans to achieve established loan quality and production goals while providing a positive experience to our customers.
Interview applicants and request information needed to perform a sound review of the applicant qualifications.
Request applicant credit records, background checks, reference checks and other information pertinent to loan applicant’s evaluation as necessary to meet investor requirements.
Manage pipeline and coordinate closing arrangements with the title company, applicant and other parties to ensure timely loan closing and funding activities.
Maintain knowledge of and provide guidance on bank products and services appropriate to customers while staying current with FNMA underwriting guidelines, regulatory guidelines, and new loan programs.
Obtain and maintain NMLS license.
Complete required training and maintain job-related knowledge.
Participate in bank and community initiatives that strengthen Firstar's visibility and commitment to the Hispanic community.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Bank's priorities and objectives.
