About The Position

The Escrow Insurance Specialist I is responsible for supporting escrow operations through the accurate processing of insurance-related tasks, timely vendor communication, and precise maintenance of loan records. This role manages lender-placed insurance functions, processes escrow-related reports, and ensures compliance with investor, federal, and state regulations. The Escrow Insurance Specialist also collaborates across departments to resolve member inquiries, adapt to new workflows or system updates, and maintain accurate and up-to-date servicing documentation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • Strong data entry skills and attention to accuracy in spreadsheets, databases, and internal systems.
  • A high school degree or equivalent.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Teams/Zoom, PDF tools, and web browsers.
  • Skilled in creating, editing, and organizing documents and spreadsheets (Word, Google Docs, Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Ability to manage calendars, email, and correspondence effectively.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment and processes (printing, scanning, filing).
  • Professional phone etiquette and clear written/verbal communication across telephone, email, and chat.
  • Strong time and task management; able to prioritize multiple assignments with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 or more years of combined customer service or mortgage, industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process and manage insurance-related tasks and queues, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
  • Communicate and follow up with vendors and insurance agents to ensure timely escrow payments, confirm policy details, and update loan records.
  • Oversee lender-placed insurance by analyzing reported loans, approving billing, maintaining systems, and processing insurance refunds.
  • Collaborate with departments to efficiently resolve member inquiries, and adapt to new work flows and system updates.
  • Maintain accurate loan records and adhere to standardized processes to optimize productivity and minimize discrepancies.
  • Possess a basic understanding of flood regulations and confidently address related inquiries.
  • Process and review reports generated by LMCU and vendors, updating servicing systems accordingly, and retrieving documentation from internal and external systems.
