About The Position

This position is responsible for preparing closing documents correctly, accurately, and on time while providing a high level of customer service to internal and external customers and business partners. The Mortgage Closer/Funder audits loan files and prepares closing documents according to company and investor guidelines and standard guidelines established by FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA, and NCHFA. The role also includes ordering and balancing closing wires.

Requirements

• High school diploma with 4 years of mortgage experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with purchase and refinance transactions for conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and NCHFA programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks accurately.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Encompass.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-closing audits of closing and compliance documentation, including initial 1003, initial and final LE and CD with corresponding Change in Circumstance, appraisal, title, property insurance, rate lock agreement, final loan approval, mortgage insurance certificate, and flood certificate.
• Enter data in Encompass to generate closing instructions and documents.
• Review Closing Disclosures (CDs) for accuracy and tolerance variations.
• Review and clear all “Prior to Closing” and “Prior to Document” underwriting conditions.
• Request funding wires directly from the wire department and review funding documents as required.
• Assist post-closing in obtaining corrections to closing documents as required.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by Management that may not be specifically listed in the position description.
