About The Position

The Closer performs a cross-functional range of duties across the residential mortgage closing process, based on workload. Duties include generating initial and final closing disclosures, drawing and reviewing closing documents, auditing loan documents, funding loans, and completing related functions. The role handles documentation for moderate to complex loans and requires current, comprehensive knowledge of investor guidelines and applicable government regulations, including TRID, RESPA, ECOA, FCRA, HMDA, MDIA, TILA, and AIR.

The position also supports loan processing and underwriting by clearing conditions, performs regulatory validation, and may cross-train on loan funding. The role requires accuracy, organization, strong communication and math skills, and the ability to manage multiple functions and deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of RESPA and TRID guidelines.
• Experience in a lender's closing department.
• Ability to draw closing documents using third-party software such as DocMagic.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, including the ability to identify loan problems.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong math skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to perform multiple functions throughout the day as needed.
• Knowledge of investor guidelines and suspense clearance for loan purchase.

Responsibilities

• Generate initial and final closing disclosures.
• Draw closing documents.
• Audit loan documents for accuracy.
• Clear conditions with the Processing and Underwriting departments.
• Perform regulatory validation, including Flood, HMDA, TRID, and RESPA checks.
• Cross-train on funding loans and perform funding-related duties as workload requires.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
