The Mortgage Apprentice participates in a structured training and development program designed to prepare individuals for a career in residential mortgage lending. Apprentices receive hands-on experience, formal classroom and on-the-job training, and mentorship while learning the end-to-end mortgage lending process in a banking environment. The program lasts 12–18 months, after which the apprentice transitions into a mortgage professional role. The position is non-exempt and has no supervisory responsibilities. Licensing and education costs for NMLS, Notary, and Lending Certificate are covered by the Bank. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. It is primarily sedentary, involving standard office activities such as computer work, phone communication, and document handling. Compensation is competitive hourly pay during the apprenticeship, with eligibility for performance incentives in later program phases. Successful completion of the program may lead to placement as a Mortgage Loan Originator, Branch Manager, or Residential Lending Specialist.
