Under the general supervision of the Education Manager – PlayHouse, the Monticello Education Intern is responsible for the following: Coordinate field trips and other group visits, including birthday parties and rentals as needed. Communicate with individuals interested in booking field trips. Complete bookings in the museum calendar and in the museum's booking system. Assist in setup and facilitation of interactive field trip experiences, including leading selected field trips. Lead programs at the PlayHouse, and collaborate on/contribute to programs in other Park District locations as needed. Assist visitors on the museum floor. Attend PlayHouse staff meetings and contribute to the overall work of the team. Participate in Park District-wide program planning and review. Follow all Peoria Park District rules, policies, and procedures. Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of the Peoria Park District’s safety program. Perform all other duties as assigned. Due to constraints related to the funding for this position, candidate must be a female (as defined by the candidate), and must have recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree. Essential Functions: The work requires periodic physical exertion in handling supplies, equipment, and materials typical of the hospitality industry. Prolonged standing, bending, stooping and ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds are required on a periodic basis. Must have the ability to manipulate keyboard, phone, and cash machines. Must be able to bend at waist and knees in order to interact with children.
