About The Position

The Monitoring & Compliance Specialist (M&C) will complete medical record audits for various programs including General Revenue (GR), Texas Home Living (TxHmL), Home and Community Based Authority Services (HCS), Community First Choice (CFC), Enhanced Community Coordination (ECC), and Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR). The role involves monitoring compliance with IDD Service Definitions, Local Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority (LIDDA) Performance Contract, Medicaid, and other contracted special programs, as well as HFC’s internal policies, procedures, and Medical Records requirements. The M&C will forward audit findings to responsible staff and update Quality Management’s spreadsheets for daily or weekly data tracking. Participation in state audits is also required. HFC emphasizes trauma-informed care, cultural sensitivity, and a safe, respectful environment. Responsibilities include learning and implementing trauma-informed practices. Reassignment of work location and hours may occur based on program needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience with clerical/secretarial or data entry work as the primary job duty.
  • Current driver’s license and insurable under Center insurance.
  • Ability to pass and maintain all Center-mandated trainings.
  • Ability to read and interpret material at the high school level.
  • Ability to write at the high school level.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics at the high school level.
  • Ability to use a computer with basic word processing, spreadsheet programs, and database programs for data entry.
  • Ability to use a copy machine, fax machine, and calculator if necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 college semester (15hrs) in a related field may be substituted for each 6 months of clerical/secretarial or data entry experience.
  • Proof of PIP insurance may be required if using a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Complete medical record audits for GR, TxHmL, HCS, CFC, ECC, and PASRR programs.
  • Monitor compliance with IDD Service Definitions, LIDDA Performance Contract, Medicaid, and other special programs.
  • Ensure compliance with HFC’s internal policies, procedures, and Medical Records requirements.
  • Forward medical record audit findings to responsible staff.
  • Update Quality Management’s spreadsheets to track data entry on a daily or weekly basis.
  • Participate in state audits as needed.
  • Learn about and implement trauma-informed practices within the scope of work.
