About The Position

Under the direction of the Unit Director, the Monitor Technician performs unit functions, including viewing monitor screens for changes in patient cardiac rhythm and notifying the RN of any changes noted. The role also includes transcribing physician orders and performing other duties appropriate to the position in compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• BLS certification.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management skills.
• Customer-focused skills.
• Ability to form effective working relationships with hospital staff.

Nice To Haves

• Education in medical terminology.
• Previous experience in basic EKG interpretations.

Responsibilities

• View monitor screens for changes in patient cardiac rhythm.
• Notify the RN of any cardiac rhythm changes noted.
• Transcribe physician orders.
• Perform other position-appropriate unit functions in compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
