About The Position

Under the supervision and/or direction of the Nursing Director/Clinical Manager, Resource Nurse, or Staff Nurse, the Monitor Tech performs Monitor Tech and Unit Secretary functions. The role helps ensure a professional atmosphere in the nursing unit and requires effective public relations when interacting with physicians, patients, visitors, and other hospital staff. The Monitor Tech greets and directs people and provides non-professional factual information to patients and personnel from other departments. The position is critical to patient and physician satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Moderately advanced knowledge of ECG rhythms.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual ability.
• Knowledge of 12-lead ECG.
• Previous experience as a monitor technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform Monitor Tech functions.
• Perform Unit Secretary functions.
• Help ensure a professional atmosphere in the nursing unit.
• Interact professionally with physicians, patients, visitors, and other hospital staff.
• Greet and direct patients and personnel from other departments.
