About The Position
Under the supervision and/or direction of the Nursing Director/Clinical Manager, Resource Nurse, or Staff Nurse, the Monitor Tech performs Monitor Tech and Unit Secretary functions. The role helps ensure a professional atmosphere in the nursing unit and supports patient and physician satisfaction. The Monitor Tech demonstrates good public relations skills when interacting with physicians, patients, visitors, and other hospital staff; greets and directs people; and provides non-professional factual information to patients and personnel from other departments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
- Medical terminology knowledge.
- Moderately advanced knowledge of ECG rhythms.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual skills.
- Knowledge of 12-lead ECG.
- Previous experience as a monitor technician.
Responsibilities
- Perform Monitor Tech functions.
