About The Position

The Monitor Tech provides continuous ECG monitoring by assessing EKG strips and accurately interpreting cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, including measuring P-R intervals and QRS widths and identifying ST segment deviations. The role also involves troubleshooting monitoring problems, recognizing probable causes, and seeking solutions. The Monitor Tech maintains inventories, supplies, hardware, and telemetry transmitters in working condition and promptly reports malfunctions as applicable.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior work experience required.
• Successful completion of the PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 days is required.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience as a monitor technician.
• Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association.
• Certification as a Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
