Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be highly organized, efficient with advanced critical thinking skills to work in this team oriented environment.
- Must have a keen attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Availability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
- Adapts to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
- Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date.
- Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
Nice To Haves
- Previous monitor technician experience preferred.
- Completion of some college level coursework preferred.
- Previous healthcare experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) preferred. (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
- Telemetry monitoring experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Providing continuous ECG monitoring to inpatient telemetry patients.
- Maintaining close communication with nursing care units in regards to patient monitoring and arrhythmia notification.
- Following emergency procedures for critically acute code situations.
- Working in an inpatient hospital environment and/or work area that operates 365 days per year.
- Successfully completing Mayo Clinic’s ECG competency and monitor training course within designated time frame after hire.
