About The Position
The Central Monitor Tech is responsible for identifying cardiac rhythms and notifying the nurse of changes in rhythm. This role involves watching a total of 41 rhythm channels in a central area. As directed, the technician will assume responsibility for facilitating nursing unit operations under the direction of the RN, including clerical and specific patient care activities. Strong communication, interpersonal, basic computer, and customer service skills are required. The position requires demonstrating Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school education or GED equivalent.
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant or unit secretary course; or currently attending an approved Nursing program (RN, LPN).
- Rhythm Identification Course within 90 days of hire.
- Strip Identification Test within 30 days of hire.
- BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as Unit Secretary preferred.
