About The Position

This position will work half time providing research and operational assistance for the Reproductive Infectious Diseases (RID) research team and PI, and half time supporting an OBGYN Department medical education project. The RID research team has several projects underway or in their analysis stage, including: A Study of Reduced Dosing of the Nonavalent HPV Vaccine in Women Living with HIV Towards the eradication of congenital syphilis in Canada (REACT-Syph): Canadian Maternal and Congenital Syphilis Surveillance. These studies are coordinated centrally from the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The research assistant will support studies through data abstraction and entry, preparation of study materials, ethics application support, and other tasks as needed. The OBGYN medical education project aims to enhance the UBC MD undergraduate curriculum in order to better equip future physicians to address the full spectrum of women’s health needs across specialties, ultimately improving medical education and patient care. This project will develop and integrate sex- and gender-based medical content and assessment tools throughout the MD curriculum, expanding women’s health education beyond reproductive health to include under researched and underdiagnosed conditions.
