About The Position

As a full-time Production Supervisor in the Molding Department at Aalberts, located in Pageland, SC, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the green sand, molding, and sorting areas to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives are achieved. The supervisor provides daily leadership, coaching, and performance management while maintaining efficient workflow and achieving production targets. Requirements

  • Advanced communication skills with ability to delegate daily assignments.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Industrial Management, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
  • Able to function in a leadership role and interact positively and openly with employees and supervisors.
  • Able to work constructively in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Effective communicator.
  • Commit to spend at minimum 70% of his/her time on the shop floor

Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout the molding department.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and PPE requirements.
  • Conduct daily safety audits, safety talks, and incident investigations.
  • Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions and practices.
  • Participate in risk assessments and corrective action implementation.
  • Supervise daily green sand molding operations to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Monitor mold line performance, molding machine efficiency, and departmental productivity.
  • Coordinate staffing and manpower allocation to optimize workflow.
  • Minimize downtime by working closely with maintenance and engineering departments.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including molds produced, efficiency, scrap, and downtime.
  • Ensure molds meet dimensional, quality, and customer specifications.
  • Monitor and maintain proper green sand properties and molding parameters.
  • Work closely with Quality and Process Engineers to address defects and improve processes.
  • Coordinate root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Support customer audits and internal quality initiatives.
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop molding personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure employees receive proper training on equipment, processes, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and workforce records.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve molding efficiency and reduce rework and scrap.
  • Participate in capital projects and equipment upgrades.
  • Communicate production priorities and performance expectations to team members.
  • Coordinate activities with Melt, Core Room, Maintenance, Quality, and Shipping departments.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and shift turnover communications.
  • Provide accurate production reports and documentation.
