About The Position

This position is responsible for setting up and operating molding presses according to job specifications, inspecting parts for flaws, and maintaining a clean work area. The role requires a higher skill level in molding and involves assisting with material handling and training other operators. It is designated as a Safety Sensitive Position.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years related experience
  • Conversion of weights and measures
  • Comprehension of written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition/subtraction, multiplication/division)
  • Reading comprehension skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Sets up press, checking tonnage, cure time, temperature, speed control, etc.
  • Retrieves preforms/extrusions/inserts for the job.
  • Cuts and prepares material for molding at the press.
  • Loads preforms/extrusions into the preheater and then into the mold.
  • Molds parts requiring a higher skill level.
  • Operates press according to job specifications.
  • Cleans up around the press and work area during cure time.
  • Unloads parts from the mold.
  • Inspects parts for flaws.
  • Completes all required "trimming at the press".
  • Cleans mold and equipment in preparation for the next shot.
  • Records time and work on Labor Ticket each day.
  • Communicates all production/press related information to the next shift Press Operator or shift Supervisor.
  • Performs all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.
  • Assists with material handling between departments.
  • Trains level B and C Press Operators.
  • Moves molding materials from the staging area to the press line.
  • Relieves and fills in during lunch breaks.
  • Works independently or in a team environment.
