About The Position

This is an entry-level position that requires the ability to adhere to brake duration and return to work station promptly. The role involves operating a press according to job specifications, inspecting parts for flaws, and completing required trimming at the press. The Molder I is also responsible for cleaning molds and equipment, recording daily work, and communicating production information to the next shift or supervisor. Additional duties include moving molding material, assisting in training, and relieving coworkers during breaks. The position requires the ability to work independently or in a team environment with attention to detail and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Entry level position

  • Comprehension of written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition/subtraction, multiplication/division)
  • Reading comprehension skills

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to brake duration and return to work station promptly.
  • Check press for tonnage, mold, and preheaters for temperature.
  • Cut and prepare material for molding at the press.
  • Load preforms/extrusions into the preheater.
  • Load preforms/extrusions into the mold.
  • Operate press according to job specifications.
  • Clean up around the press/work area during cure time.
  • Unload parts from the mold.
  • Inspect parts for flaws and seek corrective action if needed.
  • Complete all required "trimming at the press".
  • Clean mold and equipment in preparation for the next shot.
  • Record time and work on Labor Ticket each day.
  • Communicate all production/press related information to the next shift Press Operator or shift Supervisor.
  • Perform all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.
  • Move molding material from staging area to press line.
  • Assist in training of new workers.
  • Relieve and fill-in during lunch breaks.
