About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Mold Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating thermoplastic injection molding machines, performing mold and tooling changes, monitoring production quality, and ensuring production goals are met. The ideal candidate will have previous injection molding experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of injection molding or related manufacturing experience.
  • Experience setting up and operating thermoplastic injection molding machines.
  • Ability to perform mold and tooling changes.
  • Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and verify part dimensions using measuring tools.
  • Basic computer, math, and communication skills.
  • Forklift (Hi-Lo) experience or ability to become certified.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor thermoplastic injection molding machines.
  • Perform mold and tooling changes to support production schedules.
  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance and cleaning of molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Monitor production to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time completion of customer orders.
  • Inspect molded parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and production documentation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Maintain inventory of production supplies and materials.
  • Assign and coordinate daily work for machine operators and material handlers when needed.
  • Train and assist team members on proper machine operation and safety procedures.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations.
  • Assist other departments and perform additional duties as assigned.
