About The Position

The Mold Machine Operator B operates a variety of molding machines to produce moderately complex wax patterns and gating components to the highest quality standards. The role includes preparing tooling dies, operating and monitoring molding machines, maintaining product dimensional integrity, and inspecting, trimming, and cleaning wax parts. The operator follows technique cards, established setup procedures, process control procedures, and safety rules, and completes production records.

Requirements

Ability to read, interpret, and follow specifications on Technique Cards, Process Control Procedures, and other special instructions.
Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to work alone with limited supervision.
Written language skills.
Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

Skill in wax molding operations, demonstrated by three to six months of competent performance in a wax molding utility, leach tank, or core/gate cleaner position, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.

Responsibilities

Assemble, disassemble, prepare, and position tooling dies for operation; change die inserts as required.
Add chills and soluble materials according to technique cards.
Remove and/or clean tooling after operation.
Set up, monitor, and control mold machine functions.
Keep dies clean during molding operations.
Remove wax parts from dies, inspect them for defects, and trim and clean them as required.
Complete logs and records and document process modifications.
Meet production and quality standards.
Follow plant and department safety rules, operate equipment and tools safely, and identify and report safety problems.
Train less-skilled operators when assigned.
Perform other tasks as directed and, when required, handle hazardous waste.
