About The Position
The Syracuse City School District is seeking a dedicated and diverse team of educators to partner with them in achieving their goals of improving student achievement. The district serves approximately 19,000 students across 35 schools and programs. The district offers 120 different athletic teams for students in grades 7-12, with a comprehensive modified program for grades 7-8 that emphasizes skill development, participation, discipline, enjoyment, competition, and the value of hard work. The modified program prepares students for higher levels of high school competition, where academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship are stressed.

- Valid First Aid course
- Valid Adult CPR certification
- Workshop - Child Abuse Identification
- Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention
- Workshop - Dignity For All Students Act (DASA)
- Fingerprint Clearance
- School District Recommendation
- Pass a fingerprint-based background check

Responsibilities
- Assist in coaching student athletes in modified soccer.
- Focus on skill development, participation, discipline, enjoyment, competition, and hard work in the modified program.
- Prepare young student athletes for higher levels of high school competition.
- Stress the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level.
